DWE Reveals Partners for Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2024 — Here’s What You Need to Know

The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) announced on Sunday the partners for the Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2024, which will be held at Madinat Jumeirah on November 26-27.

Event Partners

The event will be supported by ADNOC, Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), Cartier, Mediclinic, e&, and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Media support will come from Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Abu Dhabi Media Network (ADMN), the Arab Radio Network (ARN), and International Media Investments (IMI).

Over 3,000 people are expected to attend, including global leaders, government officials, business executives, and international experts.

Naeema Ahli, CEO of DWE, said the forum is important for promoting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5, focused on gender equality. Hosting the event for the third time shows the UAE’s commitment to women’s empowerment globally.

Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasized the forum’s role in overcoming challenges women face and helping them contribute to society’s success.

Fatema Alnuaim, Executive VP at ADNOC, said the event is a great opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements and discuss how to support their role in the energy sector. ADNOC is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and working with partners to further support women’s contributions.

Women in the UAE

The UAE ranks fifth in the latest Women in Parliament 2023 report by the IPU, published in March. This report studied parliamentary changes in 66 chambers across 52 countries. The UAE, along with Andorra and Mexico, has equal representation of men and women in its parliament. It follows Rwanda, Cuba, and Nicaragua, where women make up 61.3%, 55.7%, and 53.9% of their parliaments.

According to UN Women, the UAE has implemented 66.7% of the laws needed to support and monitor gender equality under the Sustainable Development Goals.

The UAE also ranks first in the MENA region and 22nd in the world for women’s access to finance, political participation, and justice, based on the Georgetown Institute’s 2023 Women, Peace, and Security Index.
